Kelvin Brown was last night recognised for his contribution to Australian mining, announced at an industry awards dinner held in Sydney.

Kelvin (Reflex Global Products Manager) received the "outstanding contribution to mining" and "miner of the year" category awards for his role in the Chile mine rescue in August 2010.

The categories were created to recognise individuals who through their contribution have significantly effected positive change in mining or minerals processing in Australia in 2010-11.

Following the largest ever turnout for the Australian Prospect Mining Awards, winners across 16 categories were recognised for their innovation, efficiency and the way in which they push the Australian mining industry forward.
